Drake Passes Eminem For Another Chart Record With “VIEWS”
Drake recently dropped his highly anticipated 4th solo album “VIEWS” in April selling over a million copies in his first week and should reach double platinum status (2 million sold) some time later this week. With this accomplishment, it’s also going to push Eminem out of a pretty nice Billboard chart record that he previously held for some time.
According to Hits Daily Double, VIEWS has moved 1.93 million units (sales plus streaming), heading into its sixth week of it’s release. VIEWS is also projected to top the album chart for the sixth straight time, making Drake the first male artist in at least a decade to accomplish this. The last to do five straight weeks was Eminem with his 2010 album Recovery.
Additionally, VIEWS has also become the first album to top a million in pure digital sales. Drake has shown nothing but progressive success since the release of his first project in 2010, “Thank Me Later”, and continues to climb the later of being one of the All-Time Greats. CONGRATS to Drake and the OVO family on the continued success.
